Hello. I just could not crop my granddaughters out of this picture! Trinity Faith is on my lap and that smile belongs to my sweet Hailey Daune!

D.a.u.n.e. is my name, but not with the periods and not pronounced Dwayne, either!

I never really cared for my name because of the way it was spelled. Along with my maiden name, Bell, I became the brunt of jokes, mockings, etc.

But now, I've come to believe that the uniqueness associated with it is a gift and gifts are given to be enjoyed and extended. Besides, Daune catches people's attention.

I believe the acronym describes clearly the desire I have to touch the world and express the creativity that I was given while still in my mother's womb.

As a woman from a generation of women that disregarded the sacred calling of motherhood and went off to 'find' themselves, I always dreamed of getting married and being a MOM! Staying home to raise our babies, eventually educating them, and making our home a shelter for my Love and beauty for those I cherished-that was my career calling! I've never once regreted that decision~!

And by His leading, dreams become realities.

Now,twenty-seven years after I said, 'I do', my passion to sew and create has finally emerged and blossomed. I'm still raising our 'babies'-although they are eleven already!

The dream to be a mother who can work from home and not sacrifice our family to do it is becoming a reality.

I am most grateful to my Lord Jesus Christ for leading me by His example of laying down His life for mine. May my talents extend His love to those who cross my path.

Finally, let me say that I am who I am because Jesus gave me to Jef. My love has helped me to become the woman I am by his unconditional love, patience, and support all these years. (This is sounding like credits from a book). Perhaps one day I will write a book. In the meantime, I suppose I'll become a more proficient blogger~!
